BRIEF
A wireless handheld controller developed to create a more intuitive and responsive interface for operating Bantam Tools desktop CNC machines.
The design brings together industrial design, ergonomics, interaction design, and digital fabrication in a compact, purpose-built interface. The form was developed around the physical requirements of the user and the CNC workflow, with careful consideration given to grip, button placement, tactile interaction, and overall usability.
The project incorporated multiple manufacturing techniques to support rapid prototyping and in-house production. Custom components and enclosure elements were CNC machined using Bantam Tools equipment, allowing the design to be tested, refined, and iterated throughout the development process.
The result is a functional, tactile interface that bridges the digital controls of CNC fabrication with a more direct and intuitive physical experience.
